About Us

The word "seeksorrow" first pops up in a dictionary in 1755, where it was defined as "One who contrives to give himself vexation." It's perfect word of the day fodder, but why are we called Seeksorrow? If we could remember, we would tell you. Sometimes names are carefully considered, and sometimes they just kind of happen. Ours just kind of happened, but we are happy that it did. We are also the only company in the world with seeksorrow in our name, so we have that going for us.

We started as an online business in August of 2024, running everything out of a small but dedicated warehouse space in Lexington, KY. This website has been around since the beginning, but the vast majority of our first year sales came from our Ebay store (also around since the beginning) and our more recently opened Depop shop.

Our goals for our second year are to expand into physical retail. We have a lease on a retail space, and we will also be joining the vintage festival and flea market circuit. We will also be starting to build a social media presence, which is not an easy task for a shy company like ours. But we are looking forward to meeting you, and to you meeting us, and to hopefully selling you some awesome vintage clothing in the process.
